Tanaguarena building imploded in La Guaira following seismic damage
The Auromar residential building in the Tanaguarena sector of La Guaira, Venezuela, was demolished via controlled implosion on Monday afternoon. The demolition follows structural damage caused by earthquakes recorded in June.
Authorities established a security perimeter starting at 7:00 a.m. and implemented a scheduled power outage beginning at 3:00 p.m. to facilitate the procedure. Plaza Las Palmeras was designated as a temporary shelter for residents during the operation. The implosion took place shortly after 4:00 p.m., and residents were permitted to return to the area after 5:00 p.m. once Civil Protection verified safety conditions.
This operation is part of a larger risk management plan. According to a presidential commission evaluating infrastructure habitability, 35 controlled demolitions are planned for the region. To date, 11 buildings have been imploded in the area, with eight located in the Caraballeda parish and three in the Urimare parish.
