Tanah Laut integrates waste management to support regional tourism

The Tanah Laut Regency Government in South Kalimantan is integrating waste management into its strategy to maintain environmental quality and support regional tourism. By managing the Bakunci Landfill in Karang Taruna, the local government aims to preserve the appeal of destinations such as Bukit Sapu Angin and Batakan Beach.

Alia Jumhur Hidayat, a representative from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, inspected the Bakunci facility and praised the cleanliness of the area. The inspection included reviewing compost processing tools used to repurpose waste and participating in tree planting activities to ensure environmental sustainability.
