Tanba Sasayama black edamame pre-orders launched via JA Town

JA Zen-Noh Hyogo has launched pre-orders for Tanba Sasayama black edamame through its direct-to-consumer site, JA Town. The product is a specialty of Tanba Sasayama, a region recognized as a Japanese Agricultural Heritage site for its black soybean cultivation.

As a special promotion, shipping costs will be waived for four specific product sizes: 200g x 8 bags, approximately 3kg on the stem, 5kg loose, and 10kg loose. Shipments are expected to begin in mid-to-late October 2026, depending on weather and growing conditions.

These edamame are characterized by large grains and a unique sweetness and richness. Due to their variety, the pods may feature fine hairs, dark discoloration, or brownish spots, and the thin skins may turn black as they mature toward late October; these are considered natural characteristics of the product rather than quality defects.
