Tandil Auto Club considers leaving La Cascada circuit after municipal dispute
The Tandil Auto Club is considering leaving its La Cascada circuit and moving its activities outside of Tandil following a dispute with the local municipality. The conflict arose after the municipality refused to authorize a zonal motorsport competition scheduled for the upcoming long weekend.
The race, which included categories such as APAC, Turismo Sport 1850, TC del Sudeste, and Zonal Pista Clase 1, had previously been postponed due to weather. While the municipality cited a prior agreement to avoid events during long weekends and winter holidays, the club argues the postponement was due to force majeure and should not trigger the restriction.
The club reported financial impacts from the cancellation, including costs for earthmoving, service contracts, and sports authorization fees. The affected categories are now scheduled to compete on October 23, 24, and 25 at the Parque del Club Independiente racetrack in San Cayetano.
