Tandil businesses face closures despite falling commercial rents

Commercial businesses in Tandil are facing a sustained decline, with many storefronts remaining vacant despite a drop in rental prices. According to the Centro de Martilleros de Tandil, rental values in central areas have fallen by up to 20%, with some locations dropping from 900,000 to 750,000 pesos.

Local real estate operators attribute the closures to declining consumption, high tax burdens, and rising labor costs. Furthermore, a recent doubling of electricity tariffs has significantly pressured small businesses, particularly those located outside the city center. The clothing and footwear sectors have been identified as the most heavily impacted by the reduction in sales.
