Tandil and Azul mayors clash over family relocation

A political dispute has emerged between the mayors of Tandil and Azul following the uncoordinated relocation of a large family. Tandil Mayor Miguel Lunghi has formally requested explanations from Azul Mayor Nelson Sombra after a group of 13 people, including five minors, was left at the Tandil train station via a municipal vehicle without prior notice to local authorities.

Local officials in Tandil discovered the group near the station, where they had lit a fire to protect themselves from low temperatures. The family reportedly arrived with minimal belongings, having left essential items and medicines in Azul. While Tandil officials characterized the event as an abandonment lacking coordination, representatives from Azul's Community Development Secretariat claimed the family had requested the move to escape violence and seek new opportunities in Tandil.

Mayor Lunghi has demanded that Azul cover the costs of the emergency assistance provided to the family and has requested the return of the group to their city of origin within 48 hours. He has also threatened administrative, civil, and potentially criminal actions if a satisfactory response is not provided.

In a separate regional matter, volunteer firefighters in Tucumán have declared a state of alert. Representatives from 25 local stations are demanding that provincial authorities fulfill legal obligations and provide concrete responses regarding the implementation of Law 9.039.
