TANESCO launches updated customer service charter in Tanzania

Tanzania's Energy Minister, Dr. Juma Zuberi Homera, has launched an updated Customer Service Charter for the Tanzania Electric Supply Company (TANESCO) in Dar es Salaam. The initiative aims to enhance service delivery through modern technology, transparency, and professionalism to support the nation's economic growth.

Minister Homera emphasized that efficient electricity services are vital for production and economic activities. He noted that Tanzania currently possesses sufficient power, with a production capacity of 4,606 Megawatts against a peak demand of 2,316 Megawatts, providing opportunities for industrial and commercial investment.

In the Temeke region, TANESCO officials also marked the commencement of Customer Service Week 2026. Regional Manager Engineer Nickson Babu called on staff to prioritize accountability and patriotism to improve efficiency and meet customer needs more effectively.
