Tanga Innovation Week highlights intellectual property and student inventions

During the National Education, Skills, and Innovation Week in Tanga, the Business Registrations and Licensing Agency (BRELA) urged innovators and professionals to register their creative works. BRELA Registration Officer Benedickson Willson emphasized that legal registration protects creators from unauthorized use and allows them to transform ideas into commercial opportunities, jobs, and income.

Simultaneously, the College of Business Education (CBE) showcased its system for helping students develop innovations to solve community challenges. Student projects presented include a digital tool for scale inspectors to access data via mobile phones and ‘Smart Mauzo’, a digital system designed to help merchants track sales and engage customers through SMS notifications.
