Tangerang City and Baznas launch tuberculosis treatment facility

The Tangerang City Government, in collaboration with the National Zakat Agency (Baznas) Tangerang, has launched the Rumah Sehat Baznas (RSB) Sahabat Paru to strengthen tuberculosis (TBC) management. This facility, also known as Sasana Harmoni Pengobatan TBC Paru, serves as a center for medical services and patient assistance.

Tangerang Mayor Sachrudin stated that the initiative addresses the multifaceted nature of tuberculosis, noting that patients require not only medical treatment but also nutritional support, family involvement, and social assistance. The program aims to reduce the stigma associated with the disease and ensure patients are not marginalized by their communities.

The facility provides critical support during the initial two weeks of treatment, a vital period to ensure patients are no longer infectious. Beyond this facility, the Tangerang City Government continues to implement active case finding and screening efforts to accelerate tuberculosis control.
