Tangerang City to build international roller skating venue by 2027

The Tangerang City Government has announced plans to begin constructing a national and international standard roller skating venue in 2027. Mayor Sachrudin stated that the development is part of a commitment to strengthen sports infrastructure and foster high-achieving athletes.

According to Turidi Susanto, Chairman of Perserosi Kota Tangerang, the project is currently in the preparation stage, with the Detail Engineering Design (DED) already available. The initiative aims to support athlete development and provide adequate facilities for training and competition.

The announcement coincided with the 2026 Speed Marathon National Championship (Kejurnas) held at the Tangerang City Government Center. The three-day event, running from September 25 to 27, 2026, featured approximately 512 athletes from various regions, including Jakarta, Bogor, Bekasi, and Banten. Competitions included categories ranging from elementary school students in 100-meter sprints to professional and university-level participants.
