Tangerang Police Arrest Suspect in Karawaci Sexual Harassment Case

Police in Tangerang City apprehended a 20‑year‑old male suspect, identified only as BJ, for allegedly sexually harassing a woman on July 25 2024 in the Karawaci Baru neighborhood. The incident was recorded by CCTV and the video spread on Instagram, prompting a public outcry.

Following the viral video, the Metro Tangerang City Police conducted investigations based on the victim’s report, witness statements and the CCTV footage. Detectives from the Karawaci precinct located the suspect on July 30 near Jalan Tongkol Raya and took him into custody without resistance. authorities seized the victim’s clothing worn during the attack and the suspect’s motorcycle as evidence.
