Tangerang police arrest two for illegal soil mining

Banten Regional Police (Polda Banten) have arrested two individuals, identified by the initials RD and DL, for conducting illegal soil mining activities in Kampung Cimentul, Bakung Village, Kronjo District, Tangerang Regency.

Investigations revealed that the unauthorized mining occurred between July 27 and July 31, 2026. The suspects utilized a Kobelco excavator to extract soil, which was then sold in small quantities for approximately Rp250,000 per trip using a Colt Diesel dump truck. The operation was conducted without any required mining business permits, community mining permits, or transportation and sales licenses.

Authorities seized several items as evidence, including the green Kobelco excavator, heavy equipment work logs, a mobile phone, and sales records. The suspects are believed to have acted for personal profit.
