Tangerang police dismantle organized motorcycle theft syndicate

Police in Tangerang have dismantled an organized motorcycle theft syndicate, resolving 59 cases over a two-week period. The operation led to the arrest of 38 suspects involved in various roles within the criminal network.

According to Kombes Herbin Sianipar, Kapolres Metro Tangerang Kota, the group operated with a structured division of labor. The suspects included eight primary perpetrators, four getaway drivers, five fences, and several intermediaries.

Authorities seized significant evidence, including 33 motorcycles and two cars. Additionally, police recovered three improvised firearms, two sharp weapons, 15 bullets, and various tools used to facilitate the thefts.
