Tangerang Selatan offers free HPV DNA testing for cervical cancer prevention

The Tangerang Selatan City Government is providing free HPV DNA testing for women aged 30 to 69 as part of an early detection initiative for cervical cancer. The program, managed by the Tangerang Selatan City Health Office, is available through 35 community health centers (Puskesmas) and is scheduled to run from October 1 until November 14, 2026.

The initiative has a quota for 15,243 women. Dr. Allin Hendalin Mahdaniar, Head of the Tangerang Selatan City Health Office, stated that HPV DNA testing is crucial for detecting high-risk HPV infections that are linked to cervical cancer. Early detection allows healthcare professionals to determine appropriate monitoring or treatment steps. Residents are encouraged to contact their nearest Puskesmas to check examination schedules and are advised not to wait for symptoms to appear before seeking screening.
