Tangier National Film Festival rescheduled to March 2027

The Moroccan Cinematographic Center has announced the rescheduling of the 26th edition of the Tangier National Film Festival. Originally planned for late October 2026, the event will now take place in March 2027.

The decision follows requests from various professional organizations and industry stakeholders within the Moroccan film sector. The Moroccan Film Producers Chamber expressed satisfaction with the move, noting that the postponement provides producers and directors with additional time to complete their films to higher technical and artistic standards.

According to the Moroccan Cinematographic Center, the rescheduling aims to avoid a concentration of national and international film festivals in October, which can create scheduling conflicts and limit participation. Moving the festival to March allows it to serve as a major kickoff for the national cinematic season, preceding other significant events like the Marrakech International Film Festival.
