Tango ensembles announce international tours in Colombia and Argentina

The Quinteto Astor Piazzolla has announced an international tour titled ‘Le Grand Tango’ to celebrate the legacy of the revolutionary Argentine composer. The program includes essential works such as ‘Oblivion’, ‘Adiós Nonino’, and the central piece ‘Le Grand Tango’, which was originally dedicated to cellist Mstislav Rostropóvich in 1982. The ensemble, which has won two Latin Grammys, will perform in Bucaramanga, Colombia, at the Teatro Santander on October 30.

Separately, The Camarada Tango Quartet, an ensemble featuring Argentine composer Andrés Martín and US-based musicians, is preparing for an Argentine tour following the recording of their third album, ‘Lifemakers’, in Buenos Aires. The tour includes performances at the Bariloche International Music Festival (FIMBA) and in Mendoza, concluding with a free concert at the Casa de la Cultura in Buenos Aires on September 26.
