Tanisha Agrawal becomes Bargarh’s first female commercial pilot

Tanisha Agrawal has become the first woman from the Bargarh district of Odisha to earn a Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

Agrawal began her aviation journey after completing her higher secondary education in 2021. She completed her initial theoretical training in India before traveling to California, United States, for advanced flight training. Following approximately one and a half years of rigorous training, including solo flights, she returned to India to secure her licence.

Agrawal has secured a position with IndiGo and is currently undergoing training to transition from small aircraft to operating Airbus commercial passenger jets.
