Tanishaa Mukerji accuses MSEB of misconduct in Lonavala

Actress Tanishaa Mukerji has publicly criticized the Maharashtra State Electricity Board (MSEB) regarding a dispute at her ancestral home in Lonavala. Mukerji alleged that the electricity board is behaving like a ‘mafia’ by issuing excessively high bills and cutting off power supply before the official due dates to force payment.

In a social media post, Mukerji described the department's actions as ‘criminal’ and claimed that residents are being held hostage by these tactics. She specifically noted that the power was disconnected on a Saturday evening despite the payment deadline not having passed.

The actress appealed for intervention from Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, calling for stricter regulation in the Lonavala area. The property in question, known as ‘Frangipani House,’ is a heritage homestay located in the ancestral home of her grandmother, the renowned actress Shabana Samarth.
