Tanishaa Mukerji criticizes colonial mindset in India

Bollywood actress Tanishaa Mukerji has sparked social media debate after criticizing what she described as a “British hangover” among certain well-educated, elitist Hindus in India. In a post on X, Mukerji accused these individuals of looking down on India while expressing excessive admiration for Western nations like the United States and the United Kingdom.

Her remarks coincide with ongoing discussions regarding Elon Musk and the proposed entry of Starlink into the Indian market. Mukerji argued that while India faces various challenges, the country has made significant progress over the last decade. She further criticized the tendency to label government supporters as “andhbhakts” or uneducated, while viewing those who support foreign-based critics of India as “cool and woke.”

Mukerji concluded by stating there is a “war for ur mindset” and urged individuals to rely on logic and facts rather than being overly influenced by media narratives.
