Tanner Griffith signs with Kansas City Royals after MLB Draft

Centerfielder Tanner Griffith, a 21‑year‑old from Livermore, California, was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the 11th round (pick No. 329) of the July MLB Draft and signed with the club a week later. Griffith, a De La Salle High School graduate who played college baseball at Saint Mary’s College in Moraga, described the experience as "a surreal feeling" and said signing fulfilled a childhood dream. He has a long local baseball history, including playing for the Livermore Longshots and participating in the Little League Intermediate World Series held in his hometown. After signing, Griffith reported to the Royals’ offseason facility in Arizona to begin training.
