Tanner Svenson wins gold in bocce at Special Olympics

Tanner Svenson, a 23-year-old athlete from Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, won the gold medal in bocce at the Special Olympics Canada Summer Games held in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Svenson secured the victory by mounting a comeback from a 0-5 deficit to defeat Trevor Campese of British Columbia with a final score of 12-5.

The win may qualify Svenson for the Special Olympics world competition next year. In addition to his athletic achievement, the hockey broadcaster also interviewed Governor General Louise Arbour during the week of competition. The Summer Games featured more than 17,000 athletes, coaches, and officials participating across 10 different sports.
