Tano Tijerina critiques Democrats on border security at RNC

Tano Tijerina, a former Webb County judge and Republican candidate for Texas’ 28th Congressional District, addressed the Republican National Committee’s Midterm Convention in Dallas. During his speech, Tijerina explained his decision to switch from the Democratic Party to the Republican Party, citing border security as a primary motivator.

Tijerina criticized Washington Democrats and his political opponent, Democratic Representative Henry Cuellar, for what he described as inaction regarding the border crisis in South Texas. He stated that the Democratic Party “left me” and abandoned the values and needs of working people in his community. He credited Donald Trump’s administration with taking decisive action to secure the border, noting that border communities are grateful for those efforts.
