Tantallon Mill to open in East Lothian

Tantallon Mill, a new £170,000 flour milling facility, is scheduled to open in February at Auldhame Farm near Seacliff in East Lothian. Developed by Company Bakery, the project aims to process up to 500 tonnes of wheat annually, primarily sourcing grain from East Lothian and south-east Scotland.

The project has received a grant of £65,848.86 through the Scottish Government’s Food and Drink Processing Scheme Scotland. The mill will occupy a 200m2 site and is expected to create four full-time jobs while strengthening connections between local farmers and independent bakers.

Company Bakery co-founder Ben Reade noted that the move represents a return to the company's roots, as the business originally utilized a small stone mill when it was founded in Edinburgh in 2017. The new facility will produce specialist flour for Company Bakery and other food businesses.
