Tantita Security employs 60,000 youths to protect Niger Delta pipelines
Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited has reported that its pipeline surveillance operations in the Niger Delta have employed over 60,000 local youths while contributing to increased crude oil production. The company’s Media Consultant, Dr. Paul Bebenimibo, stated that the firm’s efforts since 2022 have strengthened the fight against oil theft, pipeline vandalism, and other illegal activities that impact Nigeria’s national revenue.
Beyond infrastructure security, the improved safety in oil-producing communities has facilitated the return of legitimate economic activities, such as farming and fishing. The company aims to support Nigeria’s goal of reaching a crude oil production target of 2.5 million barrels per day. Bebenimibo attributed the company’s strategic effectiveness to the local expertise of Chairman Government Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo, whose familiarity with the region's waterways and creeks aids in developing effective monitoring strategies.
