Tanvald attack: Police investigate attempted double murder

Police are investigating an attempted double murder following a violent attack in Tanvald, Jablonec region, on Friday afternoon. The incident reportedly stemmed from a dispute between a tenant and a landlord regarding unpaid rent and the disconnection of electricity.

Witnesses state that a man used a knife, a meat mallet, and tear gas during the assault. Three people were injured: two men and one woman. Two of the victims were reported to be in critical condition. One victim was transported by helicopter to a trauma center in Hradec Králové, while others were taken to a hospital in Liberec. A woman was treated on-site for tear gas exposure.

The suspect barricaded himself in his apartment and reportedly injured himself before police arrived. He was subsequently taken to a hospital in Hradec Králové in an induced coma. Authorities are currently treating the case as an attempted murder of two persons.
