Tanya Chaudhary sets new Indian hammer throw national record

Tanya Chaudhary set a new Indian national record in the women’s hammer throw at the Indian Athletics Series Final, recording a distance of 68.35m. This performance surpasses the previous record of 67.02m set by Anushka Yadav. Chaudhary noted that the achievement follows a period of training focused on perfecting technique and serves as a confidence boost ahead of the upcoming Asian Games.

In the men’s 3000m steeplechase, Avinash Sable secured a victory with a time of 8 minutes 32.39 seconds. This win marks Sable’s successful return to the event following ACL surgery last year. Both Chaudhary and Sable are members of the Indian team competing in the upcoming Asian Games. The Athletics Federation of India provided a prize fund of Rs 1 lakh for the winners.
