Tanzania Breweries Plc and VETA partner for agricultural scholarship

Tanzania Breweries Plc (TBL) and the Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to launch the ‘Ujuzi-Kwanza Scholarship Program’. This three-year initiative aims to provide 300 young Tanzanians from low-income households with practical skills in agro-mechanics, agricultural production, and equipment maintenance.

Under the agreement, TBL will cover all training fees, while VETA will provide accredited technical training and nationally recognized qualifications. The program is designed to support Tanzania’s agricultural transformation by equipping youth with the expertise needed to manage modern farming technologies and machinery.

Participants will also gain hands-on experience through agricultural operations, including opportunities within TBL’s barley and sorghum farming communities. The partnership aligns with Tanzania’s Development Vision 2050, which seeks to modernize the agricultural sector to enhance national productivity and food security.
