Tanzania Educational Authority offers tax relief for fund contributors

The Tanzania Educational Authority (TEA) has announced that contributors to the National Education Fund are eligible to apply for tax relief. According to Senior Officer Joyce Minja, donors will receive a certificate or letter of recognition that can be used to claim tax benefits under Section 16(1) of the Income Tax Act, Cap 332.

In addition to tax incentives, contributors will be entered into a permanent database and may receive national and international recognition to encourage further investment in the education sector. TEA is urging businesses, government institutions, and the private sector to support the improvement of educational infrastructure through financial or material contributions.
