Tanzania entities launch initiatives to enhance customer service efficiency
In Dar es Salaam, the Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA) and Absa Bank Tanzania have launched initiatives focused on enhancing customer service efficiency and responsiveness.
TPA Board Chairman Ambassador Ernest Mangu emphasized the need to expand port infrastructure and improve service efficiency to handle increasing cargo volumes and remain competitive in the international market. Mangu noted that rising cargo levels have caused logistical challenges, such as truck congestion on roads leading to ports and inland container depots. He urged TPA and transport stakeholders to collaborate on solutions to ensure port growth does not hinder service quality.
Simultaneously, Absa Bank Tanzania launched its 2026 Customer Service Week under the theme ‘Extra Mile’. Managing Director Obedi Laiser stated that the bank aims to improve service quality by actively listening to customer feedback and balancing technological innovation with human interaction. Laiser highlighted that the bank's goal is to provide fast, personalized, and efficient solutions to meet evolving client expectations.
