Tanzania internet usage grows by nearly 12 percent

Internet usage in Tanzania has increased by 11.95 percent, reaching 1,041 petabytes over a three-month period. According to the Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA) Fourth Quarter Performance Report for the 2025/26 financial year, internet subscriptions also rose by 6.48 percent to reach 62.7 million.

Minister for Information, Communication and Information Technology, Angellah Kairuki, stated that the communications sector is becoming a vital driver of economic growth and national development. The report further noted that mobile phone subscriptions reached 117 million, marking a 4.51 percent increase compared to the quarter ending in March 2026.
