Tanzania officials discuss implementation of National Development Vision 2050

Tanzanian officials are coordinating efforts to achieve the National Development Vision 2050 through economic empowerment and infrastructure standards.

At a National Economic Empowerment Council (NEEC) meeting in Dodoma, Executive Secretary Jabiri Makame emphasized the need for the institution to implement economic empowerment policies more efficiently. Makame called for an assessment of the 2004 Economic Empowerment Policy to ensure it aligns with the 2050 goals and urged stakeholders across various sectors to collaborate to improve Tanzanian economic standing.

In Arusha, Deputy Minister of Works Engineer Godfrey Kasekenya addressed the Architects and Quantity Surveyors Registration Board (AQRB) annual general meeting. Kasekenya stated that achieving the 2050 vision requires immediate action in construction quality, safety, and the adoption of modern technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Building Information Modelling (BIM). He noted that the AQRB registered 1,947 projects and inspected 6,274 projects across 26 regions during the 2025/26 fiscal year.
