Tanzania PM pledges stronger government-religious ties

Prime Minister Dr Mwigulu Nchemba has pledged continued government cooperation with religious institutions to promote social cohesion, strengthen moral values, and improve Tanzanian welfare. Speaking at a Seventh-day Adventist Church event in Dar es Salaam, Nchemba stated the government is prepared to address legal or procedural challenges that might hinder the development of religious organizations.

Nchemba emphasized the role of religious gatherings in fostering learning and understanding, while urging parents and churches to work together in nurturing a generation characterized by dignity and morality. He further assured religious groups that the state would continue to protect freedom of worship.
