Tanzania Premier League issues fines and announces third round schedule

The Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB) has issued several disciplinary fines and warnings following recent NBC Premier League matches. Dodoma Jiji FC was fined 5,000,000 Tanzanian Shillings after players were observed engaging in activities suggesting superstitious beliefs during a match against Pamba Jiji. Additionally, Pamba Jiji received a stern warning for arriving late to their match at the CCM Kirumba stadium.

Simba SC was also fined 5,000,000 Tanzanian Shillings due to fans throwing bottles at referees, which prevented the officials from using the changing rooms. Player Ibraheem Jabaar received a separate fine of 5,000,000 Tanzanian Shillings for an on-field incident. Furthermore, Namungo FC received a warning regarding ball boys intentionally hiding or failing to retrieve balls during play.

As the league moves into the third round of the 2026/27 season, Yanga SC currently leads the standings with six points. The upcoming schedule includes fixtures such as Singida Black Stars vs Simba SC on August 22 and Azam FC vs Pamba Jiji FC on August 23.
