Tanzania Prime Minister urges focus on youth upbringing and education quality

Tanzanian Prime Minister Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba has called on citizens and institutions to prioritize national stability, moral upbringing, and academic excellence.

Speaking at the National Maulid Council in Dar es Salaam on behalf of President Samia Suluhu Hassan, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of strengthening the upbringing of children and youth. He noted that both boys and girls face risks from moral erosion and the misuse of social media and technology, urging parents and religious leaders to increase supervision.

In a separate address closing the National Education, Skills and Innovation Exhibition Week in Tanga, Dr. Nchemba urged educational institutions, including the University of Dar es Salaam, to maintain high academic standards. He cautioned against lowering educational quality in the pursuit of increased accessibility, particularly in critical sectors like health. He also encouraged young people to pursue fields that align with their natural talents rather than being forced into unsuitable disciplines.
