Tanzania Prison Service prepares for BAMMATA 2026

The Tanzania Prison Service has announced its preparations for the 2026 Tanzania Forces Sports Council (BAMMATA) competitions. Assistant Commissioner of Prisons (ACP) Solomon Mwambingu stated that the service is well-prepared to compete across various sporting disciplines.

As part of their readiness, the service held the CGP CUP in Dar es Salaam in August 2026 to refine team performance. The BAMMATA competitions are scheduled to take place from September 21 to October 5, 2026, in Mwanza.

Various venues in Mwanza will host the events, including the CCM Kirumba Stadium for netball, athletics, and football, as well as the opening and closing ceremonies. Other locations include the Butimba Teachers' College for football, netball, and basketball; Milongo grounds for handball, basketball, and volleyball; and MTC grounds for shooting.
