Tanzania promotes food safety standards and AI integration in professional training

In Tanzania, government agencies are focusing on professional standards and technological adaptation. The Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) recently held a seminar for small-scale traders in Dar es Salaam to promote food safety, product quality, and legal compliance. The initiative specifically targeted food vendors, such as 'Mama Lishe' and 'Baba Lishe', emphasizing the importance of hygienic food preparation and storage to protect consumer health.

Separately, the Tanzanian government has directed the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA) to accelerate updates to accounting curricula. Deputy Minister of Finance Laurent Luswetula emphasized that training must evolve to include artificial intelligence (AI) to ensure professionals remain efficient and competitive. He also noted the need to increase the number of qualified accountants and auditors to meet the demands of both the public and private sectors while maintaining high standards of integrity.
