Tanzania Revenue Authority electronic receipting system praised

Kibiti District Commissioner Joseph Kolombo has commended the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) for implementing an electronic receipting system. Speaking at the Mafia Festival 2026 in the Utende grounds, Kolombo noted that the system, including the IDRAS platform, reduces costs for taxpayers and encourages voluntary tax compliance.

At the TRA exhibition stand, Taxpayer Education and Communications Officer Yusta Kaunda highlighted various services available to the public, including Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) registration, customs education, and training on electronic receipting machines (EFD/VFD) and electronic tax stamps (ETS). Business owners were also reminded to complete their third installment of income tax by September 30, 2026.
