Tanzania to host Miss World 2027 pageant

Tanzania has been selected to host the 74th edition of the Miss World pageant in May 2027. The hosting agreement was signed in Dar es Salaam by Julia Morley, CEO of Miss World, and Paul Christian Makonda, Tanzania’s Minister of Information, Culture, Arts, and Sports.

This marks the fourth time an African nation will host the competition, following South Africa. Tanzanian authorities view the event as a strategic opportunity to increase the country’s international visibility, promote tourism, and stimulate economic growth through job creation and community development.

The signing ceremony included several pageant figures, such as Miss World 2024 Opal Suchata and the current Miss Tanzania, Latricia Ian.
