Tanzania U-20 Women lose 5-1 to England in World Cup

The Tanzania Women's Under-20 national team suffered a 5-1 defeat against England during their second Group B match at the FIFA Under-20 Women's World Cup in Poland. Following a previous 4-1 loss to Brazil, Tanzania remains at the bottom of the group without a point.

England's goals were scored by Princess Ademiluyi, Rachel Maltby (who scored a hat-trick including two penalties), and Jessie Gale. Tanzania's lone goal was scored by Jamila Mnunduka in the 65th minute. Head coach Bakari Shime noted that while the team struggled defensively and conceded goals primarily from the right flank, there was a visible improvement in their attacking play compared to their opening match.

To maintain a chance of advancing to the knockout stage as one of the best third-placed teams, Tanzania must defeat Canada in their final group match.
