Tanzania VP Ndejembi advocates for technology in tax administration

Tanzanian Vice President Deogratius Ndejembi has emphasized the critical role of modern technology in enhancing tax collection, transparency, and administration. Speaking at the Commonwealth Association of Tax Administrators (CATA) conference in Arusha, Ndejembi stated that digital systems are essential tools for increasing domestic revenue and improving services for taxpayers.

While highlighting technology, the Vice President noted that successful revenue collection also requires robust, predictable policies and efficient administration that meets taxpayer needs. He further stressed the necessity of international cooperation to address challenges posed by cross-border trade, multinational corporations, and digital transactions.

Ndejembi indicated that Tanzania is actively strengthening its participation in international tax cooperation through information exchange and administrative assistance. Such coordination is intended to safeguard government revenues, prevent double taxation, and provide certainty for legitimate investors.
