Tanzanian institutions sign MoUs to boost vocational and professional skills

Tanzanian institutions are entering new partnerships to enhance professional skills and vocational training.

The Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Van Mo, a company involved in transport, logistics, agriculture, and tourism. The agreement aims to align vocational training programs with industrial needs, providing practical training in areas such as heavy vehicle driving, supply chain management, warehouse operations, and electrical systems. The partnership seeks to increase the employability of graduates by ensuring they possess the necessary technical skills and safety awareness required by the private sector.

In a separate development, the Tanzania Institute of Accountancy (TIA) and the Zanzibar Institute of Accountancy, Audit and Tax Advisory (ZIAAT) have signed an MoU to strengthen professional expertise in finance and public service. This collaboration focuses on joint training for Certified Tax Technicians (CTT), continuous professional development (CPD), research, and academic publications. The initiative is intended to improve financial management and public service delivery by building a workforce characterized by high levels of professionalism and integrity.
