Tanzanian officials hold training on worker compensation and social security
Tanzanian government officials and social security leaders held training seminars in Dodoma to improve the management of employee benefits and compensation claims.
Juma Mkomi, Permanent Secretary of the President's Office - Public Service Management, addressed human resource and accounting officers regarding the handling of compensation claims. He noted that negligence and delays in reporting by some government officials hinder the ability of workers to receive timely compensation following workplace accidents, illnesses, or deaths.
Simultaneously, Paul Kijazi, Acting Director General of the Public Service Social Security Fund (PSSSF), led a seminar for 462 employers from the central zone. Kijazi emphasized the importance of using digital systems to protect member interests and prevent delays in benefit payments. The sessions focused on improving cooperation between the fund and employers to ensure accurate member data and efficient service delivery.
