Tanzanian stakeholders engage in regional and international forums

In Mbeya, Tanzania, Regional Commissioner Jumanne Abdallah Sagini has called on citizens to participate in a public opinion process regarding the East African Political Confederation Constitution. The initiative, led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, aims to create a framework for closer cooperation among East African nations while preserving individual national sovereignty and independence.

Sagini emphasized that political, religious, or gender-based biases should not hinder the feedback process. The Ministry noted that the educational outreach targets diverse groups, including women, youth, the elderly, people with disabilities, and civil society leaders, to ensure a constitution that reflects shared regional values and interests.

Separately, the Tanzanian private sector firm Mkuyu Africa participated in investment discussions held in Moscow during the Russia–Africa Summit. The meetings focused on strengthening trade and investment ties between Tanzania and Russia, specifically targeting sectors such as energy, agriculture, mining, construction, and infrastructure.
