Tao Tsuchiya and Daisuke Sakuma discuss film ‘Matching TRUE LOVE’

A special talk video has been released featuring Tao Tsuchiya, Daisuke Sakuma, and singer LiSA regarding the upcoming film ‘Matching TRUE LOVE’, scheduled for release on September 25. The film is a sequel to the hit thriller ‘Matching’, which earned 970 million yen at the box office.

In this sequel, the setting expands from matching apps to a ‘matching tour’ on a southern island. The story follows characters Rinka (played by Tsuchiya) and Tomu (played by Sakuma) as they navigate complex human relationships and secrets within a closed environment.

LiSA, who wrote the theme song ‘Sophilia’, explained the meaning behind the title. The name is a coined term combining the Greek words for ‘you’ (so) and ‘love/attachment’ (philia), representing an ‘attachment to you’. Tsuchiya and Sakuma praised the song for how closely it aligns with the emotional depth and themes of the film.
