Taormina Film Festival returns to Rai television

The Taormina Film Festival is returning to Rai television after an eight-year hiatus. On Tuesday, August 25, at 23:45 on Rai 2, a 75-minute special will broadcast highlights from the 72nd edition of the festival, which took place in mid-June at the Teatro Antico.

Hosted by artistic director Tiziana Rocca, the program will review the most significant moments of the five-day event, including film screenings, documentaries, and guest interviews. The special features prominent figures such as Oscar winners Helen Mirren, Russell Crowe, and Jane Campion, alongside Italian cinema icons Giancarlo Giannini and Franco Nero.

The special was produced by the Fondazione Taormina Arte Sicilia and directed by Roberto Croce. Bernardo Campo, extraordinary commissioner of the Foundation, noted that the return to state television confirms the festival's successful rebranding and increased global attractiveness. Regional Councilor for Tourism, Sport, and Entertainment Elvira Amata added that the broadcast provides a national platform suitable for the festival's international prestige and helps strengthen Sicily's image.
