Taormina Music Awards debuts at Teatro Antico

The inaugural Taormina Music Awards took place at the Teatro Antico in Taormina, Italy, celebrating major figures in the music industry through career achievements and special recognitions.

Rock star Vasco Rossi received the Taormina Legend Award. Due to recovering from a minor medical procedure, Rossi accepted the honor via video message, expressing pride in how his songs have become part of the history of multiple generations. To mark the occasion, the city of Taormina will feature a musical path through its historic center starting September 1.

Other award recipients included Marco Masini. The event featured live performances and talks from artists such as Alessio Bondì, Serena Brancale, Diodato, Ditonellapiaga, Ermal Meta, Mille, and Willie Peyote. Taormina Mayor Cateno De Luca and Foundation President Valeria Brancato emphasized the ambition to grow the awards into an international event that strengthens the city's cultural identity.
