Taormina to host European People's Party Study Days

Taormina, Sicily, will host the European People's Party (PPE) Study Days from October 12 to 15. The event is expected to gather over 140 MEPs and high-ranking European officials to discuss political priorities for the second half of the 2024-2029 European legislative term.

Key attendees include European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Parliament President Roberta Metsola, and PPE President Manfred Weber. Other notable figures include Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani and Sicilian Regional President Renato Schifani.

The discussions will focus on economic growth, administrative simplification, migration management, and cohesion policies. Participants will also address the multi-annual EU budget and the specific needs of Mediterranean and southern European regions, emphasizing Sicily's strategic role in European security and economy.
