Taormina's Ancient Theatre hosts sold-out performance of Nabucco
A sold-out production of Giuseppe Verdi's opera 'Nabucco' was performed at the Teatro Antico in Taormina as part of the Festival Lirico dei Teatri di Pietra. The event was a collaborative effort between the Coro Lirico Siciliano and the Fondazione Taormina.
The performance featured a natural backdrop of lava flows from the active Mount Etna visible behind the ancient colonnades. Conducted by Maestro Salvador Vázquez, the production utilized the Orchestra Sinfonica del Festival and the Filarmonica di Catania. The cast included baritone Badral Chuluumbaatar as Nabucco, soprano Elena Mosuc as Abigaille, and Khurelbaatar Oyunchimeg as Zaccaria.
A notable aspect of the evening was the inclusion of Italian Sign Language (LIS) translation, allowing the deaf community to participate in the performance.
