Taoyuan expands transit with Green Line metro work and new bus routes

Taoyuan is expanding its public transportation infrastructure through new metro construction and bus services. The Taoyuan Metro Green Line extension to Zhongli has officially commenced construction. The project spans approximately 7.1 kilometers with a total budget of 36.1 billion TWD. Once completed, the line will connect Bade and Zhongli with the existing metro network, the Airport MRT, and the Taiwan Railways Zhongli Station, passing key locations such as the Zhongli Sports Park and the municipal hospital.

Additionally, the Taoyuan City Government has introduced two new minibus routes in the Dayuan District to improve connectivity to the Taoyuan HSR Station. Starting September 2, 2026, the routes, designated as T804 (Puxin to Taoyuan HSR) and T805 (New Dayuan Community to Taoyuan HSR), will be operated by Jiu-Yi Rental Co., Ltd. These services aim to provide residents with more stable transit options for commuting, schooling, and medical visits, with free rides available for holders of the Taoyuan Citizen Card.
