Taoyuan International Airport expects 755,000 travelers during holiday period

Taoyuan International Airport expects a surge in passenger traffic during the three-day holiday from October 24 to 26. Total passenger volume for the five-day period from October 23 to 27 is projected to exceed 755,000, with a daily average of 151,000 travelers. This trend contributes to the airport potentially reaching a record annual volume of 50 million passengers.

Travelers are facing potential disruptions due to Super Typhoon Champi. The storm's outer circulation and the northeast monsoon are expected to cause heavy wind and rain, leading to flight cancellations or schedule changes for airlines such as China Airlines, EVA Air, and Starlux, particularly for routes to Okinawa, Hong Kong, Macau, and parts of Southeast Asia.

Airport authorities recommend that passengers arrive at the airport at least three hours early and utilize smart technologies, such as online check-in, self-service kiosks, and e-Gates, to expedite the process. Travelers are also reminded of strict security regulations regarding power banks and liquids to avoid delays.
